How to Fix Waring Unresponsive Script in Firefox

Firefox may give you a "Warning: Unresponsive Script" prompt that says "A script on this page may be busy, or it may have stopped responding. You can stop the script now, or you can continue to see if the script will complete." Anything that causes the mozilla application to slow down can cause this warning to be issued. The slowdown may be caused by an extension, but it might also be a web page, another program or resource utilization (CPU, memory, disk IO) at levels high enough to impact one or more application. This content will show you how to fix this warning.

1- In the Address bar, type about:config and press Enter

2- Click on I'll be careful, I promise!

3- In the about:config page, search for the preference dom.max_script_run_time

4- Double click on dom.max_script_run_time and type value 20

Note: The default value is 10

5- Press OK

With scripts now allowed to run for longer times, you may no longer receive the prompt.

Done!
